Former Foundation Chair Ted Peck passed away on December 26. Peck was the CEO of the Ryland Group, a home building and mortgage company in Columbia MD; the founder of the Columbia Festival of the Arts; and a great contributor to the USM, among other roles. In addition to serving as Foundation Chair, Peck served as chair of the Chancellor's Advisory Committee and on the Board of Visitors at UMCES. In 1995, Peck was awarded an honorary doctor of philosophy degree from UMUC. Peck was a generous leader in the community and the USM and we remember him fondly.
